What Critics Think
Vinous - Eric Guido : 95 Points
(6/2023) A total knock-out, the 2019 Etna Rosso San Lorenzo is distinctly savory with an herbal-tinged blend of crushed ashen stones, dusty rose, dried black cherries and emerging traces of sweet clove. It washes across the palate with textures of pure silk, ushering in ripe red and hints of blue fruit that take on a slightly crunchy sensation toward the close. The 2019 tapers off long and staining, with fine-grained tannins that add a gentle tension as suggestions of black tea and sage slowly fade. This is a gorgeous rendition of San Lorenzo. Drinking Window: 2024 - 2033.

(8/7/2021) This displays an amazing balance of power and grace, throwing in a shovel load of terroir, too. The aromas and flavors extend from ripe red fruit, through red licorice, tufo, orange rind and bright herbs. Medium-bodied with some firm tannin, but there's no stopping the complex fruit. This is top-class Etna rosso. Drinkable now, if you don't mind the firm tannin, or hold.
