(8/2025) This is delicious! Urbina is a family owned property in Rioja Alta dating back to 1870. Bottling traditional style Rioja wines, this producer, little known if the US, is highly regarded for their extensively aged wines, similar to Lopez de Heredia. This dry white is 10 years old! Pouring a medium yellow-gold, with streaks of copper, this 100% Viura was raised in American and French oak before extensive bottle aging. Honey, cured lemon, tangerine, roasted yellow apple, almond butter, with brisk acidity, crunchy minerality, and a sweet spice finish that is long, distinctive and incredbily tasty. Try with grilled fish or fried chicken!
