What We Think
Vin Chicago: 92 Points
(10/2024) On paper, a multi-vintage red (and white) blend crafted mostly from Roussillon vineyards but vinified in Alsace - sounds weird, right? Inside the bottle, though, it's everything we want from non-interventional winemaking done well. For their sixth edition, the whole-cluster co-fermentation of Syrah and Carignan joins with Grenache and Cinsault, while aromatic Muscat is added later at blending. This dark-pouring but lifted red feels alive, with notes of vivid whole red cherry (there are pits in there!) deepened by wild bramble, soil tones, dry-aged beef, spice, and the herbal lift of stem inclusion. The wine is biodynamic with no additives - including sulfur - and VERY well made!
