(7/2025) We were introduced to the wines of Clos de la Barthassade with the 2021 vintage, and they were a massive hit with both staff and customers; we're thrilled that the 2022 vintage continues the streak of excellence from this winery in southwest France! The 2022 Gravettes is a blend of 55% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, and 15% Syrah. This is deep yet joyful wine that beautifully showcases the multifaceted nature of Grenache: Here we get dark cherry, crimson rose, black tea and hints of red raspberry combined with a youthful freshness and light but present tannins. Here is a red that can be drunk on its own but will also pair wonderfully with grilled or roasted meats, mushroom risotto, or cheese. The Barthassade website even recommends it with panna cotta and strawberries!
