(7/2025) We were very impressed with this tiny-production (only around 600 bottles!), skin-contact Welschriesling from the team at Lendwines. The name of the winery combines the name of the city where they're located, Lendava (a town in eastern Slovenia close to the Croatian and Hungarian borders) with wine. The No. 28 is a nod to the number of days of skin contact the juice sees, while Homokos relates to the sandy soils on which the vines grow. This is a complex wine with a lovely finish with light tannins, peach, apricot, apple, and green tea notes.
