What We Think
Vin Chicago: 91 Points
(9/2025) Backed by the know-how and resource of an exceptional team, the humble Paring red is sourced from a few high-quality vineyards spanning the North and Central Coast. Held-back for a number of years before release, it's velvety, richly-fruited and nicely layered. Almost like California's authentic rendition of a Rioja Reserva, it's one of the screaming deals in the entire state and a longtime Vin Chicago favorite!
What Critics Think
Jeb Dunnuck : 91 Points
(8/29/2022) The 2019 Red Wine checks in as 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc, 14% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot. Unquestionably outstanding, it has ripe cherries and assorted blacker fruits, notes of tobacco, peppery herbs, and graphite, medium-bodied richness, and ripe, supple tannins. I like it today yet see no reason it shouldn’t evolve for a decade or more.
Vinous - Antonio Galloni : 90 Points
(6/2022) The 2019 Red is one of the highlights in this range from The Paring, as it so often is. This Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend offers up bright red-toned fruit, blood orange and a host of floral/savory overtones. Its effusive, inviting personality is impossible to resist. Drinking Window: 2022 - 2027.
